So, will it be eligible for import under the new SEVS criteria ?

[dt_gap height=”10″ /]

This model was not sold new in Australia in this 4-door format, and the applicable evaluation criteria to consider would be power to weight criteria.

[dt_gap height=”10″ /]

This requires 110 kW / tonne.

[dt_gap height=”10″ /]

A quick calculation using power output of 165.5 kW and weight of 1,270 kg gives approx. 130.3 kW / tonne and means this model will be eligible for import under new SEVS.

What will they cost ?

[dt_gap height=”10″ /]

Prices vary over time but based on current market prices, probably in the $20,000 to $40,000 complied range depending on year, condition, specs and km, with that higher range buying one in near new condition.

An example like this very clean 2008 model featured here with just 21,400 km sold on 21 Feb 2019 at USS Tokyo auction for about $37,000 complied equivalent in Australia, plus standard on road costs (@ 79 Yen to the dollar).
